Giunta Italia prepares for cabinet reshuffle following resignation

A cabinet reshuffle is imminent for the Giunta Italia administration following the resignation of Daniela Vasquez, who served as the assessor for stray animals for 13 months. The resignation, reportedly requested by Mayor Francesco Italia to restore internal political balances, has triggered negotiations among the majority coalition.

Giovanna Porto is the most certain addition to the executive, expected to succeed Vasquez and take over social policies while maintaining her seat on the City Council. Marco Zappulla is expected to remain in the administration with a redistribution of his current responsibilities.

The reshuffle may involve several other changes. Andrea Buccheri is a potential candidate for a position in the Giunta, despite his preference for the presidency of the City Council. Potential departures include assessors Andrea Firenze and Giuseppe Casella, as well as Sergio Imbrò from the civic lists. The MPA–Grande Sicilia political area is expected to remain stable without significant movements.
