Giuseppe Conte visits Campobasso to discuss PNRR and party tensions
Giuseppe Conte, president of the Movimento 5 Stelle, visited Campobasso to present his book, ‘Una nuova primavera’. During the visit, Conte highlighted the impact of the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) in the Molise region, citing renovated schools, new public parks, and improved infrastructure as tangible results of the funding.
Conte addressed regional challenges, specifically the migration of young people from Molise, advocating for innovation and support for startups to prevent people from being left behind. He also criticized the current government for abolishing the citizenship income, noting that six million people in Italy remain in poverty.
The visit has also highlighted internal tensions within the Movimento 5 Stelle in Molise. Regional councilor Andrea Greco announced he would not attend the event, claiming that he and colleague Angelo Primiani were excluded from the organization process. Greco criticized the management of the visit, stating he learned of the schedule through newspapers rather than official party channels, describing the organization as closed to meaningful participation from elected officials.
