Giuseppe De Rita visits Basilicata to discuss regional development

Giuseppe De Rita, founder of Censis and former president of Cnel, is visiting Basilicata to discuss regional development strategies. The initiative, presented by Carmine Vaccaro, general secretary of Uil Pensionati Basilicata, focuses on the essential role of local communities in driving economic and social growth.

Discussions emphasize a bottom-up development model based on local responsibility, concertation, and the valorization of territorial resources. The goal is to move beyond sole reliance on state intervention by building alliances between institutions, social partners, the productive sector, and local communities. Key priorities include social cohesion, quality of life, employment, and combating depopulation.

In addition to events in Sant’Arcangelo, De Rita is scheduled to meet with Angelo Chiorazzo, Vice President of the Regional Council in Potenza, to address the socio-economic issues and future prospects of the Lucanian communities.
