Giuseppe Errichiello: From Afragola to Tokyo pizza entrepreneur

The autobiographical book ‘Un napoletano al wasabi. Fame. Riscatto. Dignità’, co-authored by Giuseppe ‘Peppe’ Errichiello and Luigi D’Antonio, chronicles the journey of a Neapolitan pizzaiolo from Afragola to Tokyo.

Errichiello’s story traces his path from a difficult childhood and early entry into the workforce to establishing a successful culinary presence in Japan. After moving to Tokyo eighteen years ago, he has expanded his business to include three locations and has achieved recognition in the ‘50 Top Pizza’ rankings. His culinary approach integrates traditional Neapolitan techniques with sensibilities acquired in Japan.

A book presentation event held in Cardito, Italy, drew over 300 attendees, including family, institutions, and friends. The event featured a talk-show format moderated by journalist Francesco Russo, discussing Errichiello’s personal evolution, his brand ‘Napoli Sta’ Ca’’, and the challenges of cultural adaptation and economic independence.
