Giuseppe Possidente retires from Carabinieri, remains active in UNARMA union

Luogotenente C. S. Giuseppe Possidente has reached the retirement milestone after a three‑decade career in the Carabinieri. The provincial UNARMA A.S.C. secretariat in Avellino honored his professional, human and trade‑union contributions, noting his historic role as a founder of the military union and former national secretary.

Although he leaves active service, Possidente will continue to collaborate with UNARMA through a specific protocol of understanding, focusing on strategic issues related to Italy’s Law 104 for both UNARMA A.S.C. and the UNARMA pensioners’ branch. Provincial Secretary‑General Massimiliano Lo Priore praised Possidente’s dedication, recalling their friendship since 1995, the rapid growth of the Avellino section to about 300 members, and affirming that his experience will remain a valuable resource for colleagues.

The announcement underscores the sustained commitment of a senior Carabinieri officer to union activism and the protection of service members’ rights.
