Giza police arrest four for snatching bag from foreign national

Egyptian security forces have arrested four individuals involved in the theft of a bag belonging to a foreign national in the Dokki district of Giza. The incident, which occurred on July 26, involved two suspects on a motorcycle snatching a bag containing foreign and local currency, bank cards, a passport, and two mobile phones.

The investigation followed social media videos showing the theft. Authorities identified and apprehended two primary suspects—a carpenter and a tuk-tuk driver—residing in the Kerdasa area. During the arrest, police seized the stolen phones, two white weapons, and quantities of hashish.

The suspects confessed to the robbery and admitted to using two accomplices to exchange the stolen foreign currency at an exchange office, knowing the funds were obtained illegally. All involved individuals have been detained, and legal proceedings are underway.
