Gjilan Court orders detention for two drug trafficking suspects
The Gjilan Basic Court has approved a 30-day detention period for two suspects, identified by the initials B. A. and S. H., following a major drug seizure in Kosovo.
During the police operation, codenamed ‘MALI’, authorities discovered 53.2 kilograms of suspected marijuana in a vehicle at a property in the village of Velekincë, within the Gjilan municipality. The investigation, which followed several months of surveillance, also led to the seizure of two mobile phones and two vehicles.
Prosecutors allege that the suspects operated a drug trafficking network spanning Kosovo, Albania, and Serbia for financial gain. Specifically, B. A. is suspected of securing the narcotics, while S. H. is accused of managing their transport. Both individuals face charges related to the organization, direction, or financing of drug trafficking, as well as unauthorized possession and sale.
