Gökhan Biçer targets 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games

Gökhan Biçer, a visually impaired national para judoka representing the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, has set his sights on competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games. With a 15-year career marked by numerous national and international medals, Biçer relies on touch and intuition rather than sight to track his opponents' movements on the mat.

Biçer emphasized the importance of the support provided by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and its mayor, Dr. Cemil Tugay, in his pursuit of Olympic qualification. He noted that he must participate in various Grand Prix organizations to accumulate the necessary points. Beyond his athletic goals, Biçer aims to serve as a role model for other visually impaired individuals, encouraging them to overcome obstacles and remain active in society.
