AK Party monitors SDG integration and gains municipal council majorities

AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik announced that the party is closely monitoring the integration process following the dissolution of the SDG. He noted that relevant institutions are working with Iraqi counterparts regarding disarmament and the dissolution of the organization.

In local politics, the AK Party has strengthened its position in several municipalities. In Bahçelievler, three CHP municipal council members joined the AK Party, shifting the council majority to the Cumhur İttifakı. Additionally, four municipal presidents have joined the AK Party.

YENİ Parti leader Özgür Özel has challenged the government by calling for local elections to be moved forward. He stated that the party would not accept election certificates if they fell below 45 percent. The party has also scheduled its first grand congress for November 14-15 in Ankara and has prepared a backup party to ensure participation in the event of a sudden election call.
