Göktepe hosts 12th annual culture and solidarity festival

The 12th Traditional Göktepe Culture and Solidarity Festival was held in the Göktepe neighborhood of the Menteşe district in Muğla. The event aimed to preserve local culture and pass traditions down to future generations.

The festival featured a parade, stands showcasing local products, folk dance performances, and musical presentations by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra and the Conservatory Folk Dance Department. Artist Selcan Kökcan Şahin also performed during the event.

Local officials, including Muğla Deputy Governor Ali Edip Budan, Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mehmet Tahça, attended the festivities. Mayor Aras emphasized the importance of protecting precious local values, noting that the tradition has been maintained uninterrupted for 12 years. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality General Secretary Tayfun Yılmaz described Göktepe as an exemplary neighborhood for its ability to preserve its culture and collective social memory.
