Glacier Bike Tour launches 370 km route across Swiss Alps
The Glacier Bike Tour is a new mountain biking route in Switzerland that connects Saint-Moritz to Zermatt. Launched in June 2024, the tour is a collaborative effort between Graubünden Ferien, Andermatt-Urserntal Tourismus, and Valais/Wallis Promotion.
The 370 km itinerary follows the path of the Glacier Express railway line and covers 9,500 meters of positive elevation gain. While marketed as an electric bike tour, the route is designed for cyclists comfortable with off-road terrain. The journey traverses three cantons—Graubünden, Uri, and Valais—and is divided into ten stages, with daily riding times estimated at three to four hours.
