Glacier de la Poste ice cream parlor faces legal dispute in Duinbergen
Residents of an apartment building in Duinbergen have taken the Glacier de la Poste ice cream parlor to the Bruges justice of the peace, citing noise and other disturbances caused by large crowds. The popularity of the establishment, owned by the De Sloovere family with investment from Marc Coucke, has led to queues sometimes exceeding 100 meters.
Neighbors complain that the noise from waiting customers, which can persist late into the evening, impacts their comfort and peace within their homes. The management of the parlor disputes the claim that the business model has changed significantly from previous years.
Tim De Taeye, CEO of ZouteCoucke, stated that the establishment will remain open while the legal proceedings continue. The justice of the peace is scheduled to hear the opposing party on October 28 to determine if the reported disturbances constitute excessive neighborhood nuisance.
