Glacier National Park tourist survives 120-foot fall thanks to bystander

A 60-year-old tourist, Ken Nurse, survived a 120-foot fall at Montana’s Glacier National Park after the ground collapsed beneath him near the McDonald Creek Bridge. The incident occurred on August 13 around 11:00 a.m. while Nurse was exploring the area near McDonald Falls with his family.

Nurse sustained serious injuries, including cracked ribs, a compound fracture to his elbow, and fluid in his lungs. A bystander, identified by the victim's wife as Josh Seppelt, spotted Nurse face down in the water and entered the creek to pull him to shallower ground. Seppelt performed CPR until Nurse began breathing again. A park ranger responded to the scene, and Two Bear Air Rescue provided further assistance.
