Gladys La Bomba Tucumana considers closing restaurant amid economic crisis
Argentine singer Gladys ‘La Bomba Tucumana’ has expressed that she is considering closing her artisanal empanada restaurant in Recoleta due to the country's difficult socioeconomic climate. The artist stated that rising costs for raw materials and the inability to maintain full staffing levels—noting her workforce has dropped from seven employees to three—have made the business unsustainable.
During a television appearance, she criticized the current economic situation, mentioning that many people are struggling to afford food and that her own investments have failed to yield the promised stability. She also touched upon the difficulties faced by the elderly regarding healthcare and medication.
Following these comments, journalist Marcelo Polino made ironic remarks regarding her financial situation, suggesting she sell empanadas on the street. Gladys responded sharply, calling his comments ‘completely out of place’ and defending her 45-year career and her political identity as a ‘justicialista’.
