Gladys La Bomba Tucumana considers leaving music for politics
Argentine singer Gladys ‘La Bomba Tucumana’ has announced that she is considering a career shift from music to politics in her home province of Tucumán. During an interview on the program ‘La noche de Mirtha’ hosted by Juana Viale, the artist stated that if she pursues a political path, she would leave the music industry entirely to focus on social work and being ‘closer to the people.’
While she has not yet announced a specific candidacy, she expressed a desire to use her 45-year public recognition to address social issues and support vulnerable sectors, such as retirees. She described herself as a ‘citizen on foot’ who lives in the real world, unlike some established politicians.
Her comments also sparked political friction. The singer criticized national legislators, specifically calling Lilia Lemoine ‘unpresentable’ and criticizing the confrontational nature of legislative debates. In response, Lemoine used social media to attack the singer, making disparaging remarks about her past behavior regarding President Javier Milei.
