Michoacán leaders focus on indigenous tourism and urban development

In Michoacán, political aspirant Gladyz Butanda Macías has pledged to promote tourism and infrastructure development within indigenous and self-governing communities. During a meeting with social leaders in the Zacán community of Los Reyes, Butanda emphasized that infrastructure projects must respect local customs and traditions to highlight the region's cultural wealth. She highlighted the importance of strengthening tourism as a driver for community development.

Additionally, Butanda held a leadership talk at the Universidad Latina de América (UNLA) in Morelia, where she advocated for involving youth in the state's political and social agenda.

In Morelia, municipal government activities have focused on urban and cultural improvements. Mayor Alfonso Martínez Alcázar inaugurated a 1.2-kilometer linear park on Avenida Quinceo to encourage walking and community interaction. Furthermore, the municipal Secretary of Culture organized a folkloric dance performance at the Palacio Municipal to showcase Mexican traditions to residents and tourists.
