glafit to introduce electric micro-mobility at Old Taisha Station

glafit Co., Ltd. will introduce its ‘NFR-01 Lite’ electric micro-mobility cycles at the historic Old Taisha Station in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture, starting September 19, 2026. The service aims to provide a new transportation option for visitors exploring the area around Izumo Taisha.

The initiative addresses several regional challenges, including overtourism, traffic congestion, and limited secondary transportation options. By utilizing these pedal-less electric cycles, which can be operated by anyone aged 16 or older without a driver's license, tourists can more easily navigate between scattered attractions such as Inasa Beach, Kamimukai Road, and Shinmon Street.

The deployment is part of a broader expansion of glafit’s electric cycles across tourism hubs in the Tottori and Shimane prefectures, including coastal areas and hot spring towns. The service is expected to support Izumo City’s efforts to attract international tourists from markets such as Taiwan and France by providing a more accessible and convenient mobility environment.
