Glaidson Acácio dos Santos trial postponed to 2027

Glaidson Acácio dos Santos, known as the ‘Bitcoin Pharaoh’, is facing a delayed trial scheduled for February 25, 2027. Previously set for 2026, the judicial postponement provides more time for his defense to prepare.

Santos is accused of leading a criminal organization that operated a massive financial pyramid scheme through GAS Consultoria e Tecnologia. The scheme allegedly attracted approximately 300,000 investors with promises of monthly returns around 10%, involving sums estimated at R$ 38 billion. The investigation, known as Operation Kriptos, led to his arrest by the Federal Police in August 2021.

Beyond financial crimes, the prosecution includes allegations of violence. These involve the 2021 murder of 19-year-old trader Wesley Pessano and an attempted homicide against investor Nilson Alves da Silva.

In an upcoming exclusive interview, Santos is expected to provide his version of events. He has previously remained silent during congressional inquiries. During the interview, he reportedly claimed to hold a cryptocurrency balance in a wallet for which only he possesses the password.
