Glamping developments expand in Shetland and Bere Island

Glamping developments are expanding across different regions, with new proposals and offerings emerging in Scotland and Ireland.

In Gulberwick, Shetland, SC Homes Shetland Ltd has submitted an application to develop two self-catering glamping pods on an undeveloped residential plot in Lower Hillside. This follows a broader trend in the Shetland Islands, where the council has received numerous applications for larger self-catering accommodations, including holiday homes in South Nesbister and chalets near Meal beach in Burra.

In Ireland, Wild Atlantic Glamping on Bere Island has introduced new pods available for year-round stays. To mark the opening, the site is hosting a Gourmet Glamping Weekend from October 2nd to 4th, featuring culinary workshops and dining experiences led by chef Tanya Ranalow, focusing on local West Cork produce.
