England gymnast Gabriel Langton hospitalized after fall in Commonwealth Games final

England's 19‑year‑old gymnast Gabriel Langton suffered a concussion when he missed his grip on the high bar and fell head‑first during the men's team final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He was treated on the arena floor, taken to hospital on a stretcher and was reported to be conscious and communicating with doctors. England went on to win the silver medal behind Canada, which claimed gold in the men's team event for the first time in 20 years.

Canada also earned a silver medal in the women's team competition, while Canadian athletes Jordan Carroll, René Cournoyer, Félix Dolci, William Émard and Ethan Ikeda secured the historic men's team title. In individual gymnastics, India's Protistha Samanta qualified for the women's vault final, and Indian men Tapan Mohanty and Yogeshwar Singh earned spots in the all‑around final. These results highlight a broad range of performances across the Commonwealth Games gymnastics programme.
