Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games rally with para athletes and King’s Baton Relay

Para athletes Owen Miller and Alexander Thomson were named to Team Scotland for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, aiming to compete in front of a full home crowd at Scotstoun. Miller, the 2021 Paralympic T20 champion, and Thomson, a T38 sprinter recovering from knee surgery, expressed excitement about the upcoming Games and the support of teammates and volunteers.

The Commonwealth Games King’s Baton Relay will visit the University of Stirling on 6 July, offering students and staff a chance to pose with the wooden baton. Olympic swimmer Duncan Scott, who launched the relay, said the event will bring communities together and build excitement for the Games. The relay will travel to more than 50 events across Scotland before the opening ceremony.

Both initiatives highlight the build‑up to the home Commonwealth Games, showcasing Scotland’s athletes, venues and community involvement ahead of the July opening.
