Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to launch on Seven Network as Australia spotlights its athletes

The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow begin on 24 July, streamed live and free to Australian viewers via Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport. The 10‑day event will host more than 3,000 athletes from 74 nations competing in 10 sports, with the largest track‑cycling and swimming programmes in Games history.

Ahead of the competition, Commonwealth Games Australia released new episodes of its "The Pursuit of Unstoppable" documentary series. Episode 4 features Paralympic swimmer Rowan Crothers, who said, "My journey as a Paralympic athlete has had many highs and lows. Getting the opportunity to be a young person with a disability and to be successful on the world stage is life changing." The episode also follows 14‑year‑old para‑swimmer Mia Hogan as she prepares for her Glasgow debut. Episode 5 turns to athletics, highlighting sprinter Aidan Murphy and the national relay program, which he says has moved "from barely making World Relays to potentially medalling at the Commonwealth Games" thanks to major investment and team culture.

Australian broadcasters will feature extensive coverage, with Bruce McAvaney leading the athletics commentary and a team that includes Ariarne Titmus, Giaan Rooney and others for swimming, netball and track cycling. The network promotes Australian medal prospects across events, including potential gold‑medal counts of up to 50.
