Glasgow and Frías highlight historic architecture and culture
Glasgow, Scotland, combines Victorian sandstone facades, large street‑art murals and a thriving coffee scene, and was named a UNESCO City of Music. Visitors can explore the medieval Glasgow Cathedral, the Victorian‑style Necropolis, George Square and its grand City Chambers, and the historic University of Glasgow campus, home to the Hunterian Museum. The city’s unique circular metro, nicknamed “The Clockwork Orange,” also draws interest.
Frías, in northern Spain, is Spain’s smallest city and retains its medieval castle ruins and the striking “Casas Colgadas” – houses built on a steep slope that echo the famous hanging houses of Cuenca. The town’s 15th‑century church of San Vicente Mártir, a fortified medieval bridge over the Ebro, and the production of the local txakolí wine add to its cultural appeal. Nearby natural attractions include the Tobera waterfall and the hermitage of Santa María de la Hoz.
