Glasgow Rangers sign striker Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers

Glasgow Rangers have completed the signing of 22-year-old Venezuelan striker Kevin Kelsy from MLS side Portland Timbers. The deal is valued at approximately £9.2 million (roughly CHF 9.8 million), making Kelsy one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

Kelsy has signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional season. The transfer marks a return to Europe for the 1.93-meter tall forward, who previously played for Shakhtar Donetsk. During his time in the United States, Kelsy became a key offensive player for the Timbers, recording nine goals and four assists in the current season, and 16 goals total since his arrival.

Rangers manager Derek McInnes expressed enthusiasm for the signing, noting Kelsy’s hunger to make an impact and his ability to strengthen the team’s attacking options. As part of the agreement, Portland Timbers will receive a financial share from any future sale of the player.
