Glasgow Warriors defeat Munster in URC season opener
Glasgow Warriors secured a second-half comeback victory against Munster in the opening round of the new United Rugby Championship (URC) season. Despite trailing 17-7 at halftime, Glasgow utilized wind conditions to their advantage to overturn the deficit.
Jamie Dobie marked his 100th appearance for Glasgow Warriors by scoring two tries. Glasgow players noted that while the team lacked full cohesion due to several players making their first competitive appearances of the season, they successfully adhered to their tactical process to secure the win.
Munster coach Clayton McMillan expressed hope that the team's performance would provide optimism for supporters following a difficult previous season. The match saw a lower-than-usual attendance at Thomond Park, with just over 11,000 fans present. Munster now faces a challenging schedule including fixtures against the Bulls, Ulster, Racing 92, and Leinster while managing an injury list.
