Glaspoort launches fiber-optic network at Van Voordenpark business park in Zaltbommel

Glaspoort will install a fiber‑optic internet network on the Van Voordenpark business park in Zaltbommel, the Netherlands. The rollout, expected to start in the third quarter, will provide more than 118 high‑speed connections, replacing the existing copper KPN cables. The new infrastructure is intended to support digital business operations, cloud applications and real‑time communication, offering greater speed and stability.

Fiber optics transmit data with light signals, consuming up to 17 times less electricity than copper networks, generating less heat, emitting no toxic substances and producing lower radiation levels. These environmental advantages make fiber a more sustainable choice for broadband access and can help reduce overall carbon emissions when adopted at scale.
