Glaspoort launches fiber-optic network for 230 businesses in Ommen, Netherlands

Glaspoort will begin installing fiber-optic broadband on the Alteveer and De Strangen business parks in Ommen, Overijssel. The rollout, scheduled for the third quarter of 2024, will provide more than 230 companies with a high‑capacity, future‑proof connection, replacing the legacy copper network formerly operated by KPN.

According to Glaspoort spokesperson Catelijne Vilé, the new fiber links will support cloud applications, video conferencing and automation, helping local enterprises modernise their digital infrastructure at no cost to the businesses. Installation work will commence after companies grant permission, and the service is offered free of charge and without contractual obligations.
