Glassboro Man Bitten by Suspected Rabid Raccoon Warns Residents

Kevin Tucker, a resident of the Elsmere section of Glassboro, New Jersey, was attacked by an apparently rabid raccoon while walking toward his trailer on Sunday. He described hearing a strange screaming sound, seeing the animal’s bright yellow eyes, and being bitten on the front of his right leg when the raccoon charged him.

The raccoon was later captured after it reportedly chased other neighbors. Tucker sought medical evaluation at a hospital, though officials have not released test results confirming rabies. Local authorities continue to advise the public to avoid contact with wild animals, keep pets up‑to‑date on vaccinations, and seek prompt medical care after any wildlife bite or scratch.
