Arruda challenged Leão’s claim of having served only four months in her current capacity, arguing that because Leão served alongside former Governor Ibaneis Rocha for the past four years, she shares responsibility for the administration's full tenure.

Arruda characterized Leão’s attempt to minimize her time in office and her comparisons regarding the OAB and the legal profession as a distraction from essential public issues. The candidate stated that the debate should focus on commitment and responsibility rather than topic avoidance. Arruda, who is aligning herself with José Roberto Arruda, intends to prioritize health, education, public security, transportation, and housing in her legislative platform.
