Gáldar Rueda film competition sets record with 370 participants

The Gáldar Rueda express short film competition, part of the Gáldar International Film Festival (FIC Gáldar), has set a new record with 370 participants. This represents a 30% increase compared to the previous edition.

The participants include over 120 directors, nearly 130 actors, and various technical professionals such as screenwriters, producers, and editors. Following the announcement of a central theme, teams will have 72 hours to film their projects within the municipality of Gáldar in Gran Canaria. Notably, female participation has reached record levels, with women making up half of the total registrants and over 40% of the directors.

In conjunction with the festival, the Sociedad de Promoción Económica de Gran Canaria (SPEGC) organized a roundtable discussion at the Centro Cultural Guaires regarding professional and business opportunities within the Gran Canaria audiovisual sector. The event focused on the importance of local professionals and companies to maintain regional competitiveness.
