Glen Beach search continues for missing teenager

A search operation is underway for a teenage boy who went missing in strong surf at Glen Beach, Camps Bay, on Saturday evening, October 3. The teenager was swimming with friends when he struggled and was swept toward Maidens Cove.

A friend attempted to rescue the teenager but was unable to reach him due to strong currents. Despite an extensive search involving the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), City lifeguards, law enforcement, and a Metro Police drone unit, no sign of the teenager has been found.

Police have opened a missing-person report, and divers from the Water Policing and Diving Service are continuing search efforts.
