Glen Hansard remembered one month after fatal accident

Singer-songwriter Glen Hansard is remembered one month after his death following a motorcycle accident near Lucan, Dublin. His former musical partner and ex-partner, Markéta Irglová, shared a poignant tribute on social media, expressing a wish that they could sing together “once more” and reflecting on the “golden times” they shared.

Hansard, an Oscar winner for the song “Falling Slowly,” was honored with a large public wake and a funeral at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. The service featured performances by notable musicians, including Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and members of Hansard’s band, The Frames. His widow, Máire Saaritsa, spoke at the funeral, honoring his search for “truth and beauty.”

An investigation by An Garda Síochána into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
