Glendale couple arrested for felony child abuse in extreme heat

Ryan and May Mullin have been arrested and face felony child abuse charges following an incident in Glendale, Arizona. The couple allegedly walked their two children, ages two and four, for several hours in 108-degree heat while heavily intoxicated.

The incident occurred after the family attended an Arizona Cardinals open practice at State Farm Stadium. According to police, a bystander alerted authorities after observing the couple stumbling and appearing intoxicated. The bystander reported that Ryan Mullin had fallen and that May Mullin appeared to be vomiting. When the bystander offered a ride, Ryan Mullin reportedly became angry and struck her vehicle.

Glendale Police released body camera footage showing the confrontation with law enforcement. Officers reported that Ryan Mullin was belligerent and initially refused orders to let go of his child's wrist. He was eventually restrained after an officer threatened the use of force. Police noted that the children appeared dehydrated and that both adults exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
