Gleneagles Hong Kong and SmarTone launch TeleCare SmartHub
Gleneagles Hong Kong, a unit of IHH Healthcare, and telecommunications provider SmarTone have launched the first TeleCare SmartHub in Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis. Starting next month, the hub will operate nine hours daily.
Users can connect with two to three general practitioners via a dedicated mobile booking app. The station features medical devices to monitor vital signs, such as blood pressure and blood oxygen levels, allowing doctors to receive real-time data during video consultations. Following a session, patients can receive prescribed medications and sick leave certificates at their homes or offices within four hours.
Kenneth Tsang, CEO of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and Regional CEO of IHH Healthcare North Asia, stated the service aims to support elderly residents and children while reducing pressure on public hospital waiting times by moving routine care into the community.
