Actress Glenn Close has addressed concerns from fans regarding her recent use of a walking cane. In a video posted to Instagram, the 79-year-old star explained that she underwent a complete hip replacement after discovering her left hip was in “really bad shape.”

Close reassured her followers that she is feeling great and is focused on maintaining her physical condition to meet upcoming professional commitments. She expressed hope that the use of a cane is only a temporary measure.

Despite the recovery process, the actress maintains a busy schedule. She plans to travel to London for the premiere of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” and return to New York for the second season premiere of the series “All’s Fair.” Additionally, Close is scheduled to receive an Honorary Academy Award at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles on November 15, 2026.
