Glenn Gary Cameron testifies at sentencing for Moore Park attacks

Glenn Gary Cameron, known as the ‘Moore Park rapist’ or ‘Night Stalker,’ provided evidence during a sentencing hearing at the NSW District Court via videolink. Cameron, 62, was arrested in Sydney in February 2024, more than 30 years after a series of attacks on eight women in the 1990s.

During the hearing, Cameron stated he did not turn himself in earlier because he was ‘a coward and afraid of the ramifications’ for himself and his family. He described his past actions as ‘some of society’s most heinous crimes’ and noted that he has recently turned to Buddhism to seek peace.

In the early 1990s, Cameron targeted women in Surry Hills, Moore Park, and the inner west by posing as a police officer or an art student. He used a knife to force victims into alleyways. While DNA evidence was left at the scene of his first attack, the investigation stalled in 1993 until his recent arrest.
