Glenn McGrath urges Jasprit Bumrah to manage workload for career longevity
Former Australian fast‑bowling great Glenn McGrath said Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is still a “spring chicken” and needs to protect his body by limiting exposure across formats. McGrath noted Bumrah’s recent back‑stress injury from an overloaded Border‑Gavaskar series and a knee impact injury on the UK tour, explaining why the BCCI has been cautious about his selection for Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
During the same interview McGrath praised Rohit Sharma as one of the best ODI batters of all time, citing his three double‑hundreds, and also spoke positively about the skill of Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Bumrah himself.
McGrath’s comments came at the MRF Pace Foundation event in Chennai, reflecting his continued involvement in advising Indian fast‑bowling talent.
