Glider crash in Leszno, Poland, kills pilot

A 67-year-old pilot from Poznań died following a glider crash near the airport in Leszno, Poland. The incident occurred on Friday, August 21, at approximately 4:00 PM.

Preliminary findings suggest the Jantar-type glider entered a spin at an altitude of about 500 meters while performing a commercial flight. Witnesses reported that the aircraft may have lost speed during a third turn before losing control and striking the ground. The impact was severe, resulting in the total destruction of the aircraft.

Emergency services, including fire departments, police, and medical teams, responded to the scene. The State Commission on Aircraft Accidents Investigation will conduct a formal inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident, including an analysis of the wreckage and flight conditions.
