Glinka State Academic Choir to perform in Belgrade

The Glinka State Academic Choir from Saint Petersburg is scheduled to perform at the National Theatre in Belgrade on September 23.

Founded in 1479 as the Choir of State Singers and Deacons, the ensemble is one of Russia's oldest professional choirs and has been named after Mikhail Glinka since 1954. This visit marks a return to Serbia for the ensemble, which will perform under the new artistic leadership of recently appointed conductor Ilya Derbilov.
