Gliwice hosts study visits during Polish Urban Planning Congress
From 23 – 25 September 2026, the city of Gliwice will serve as host and main partner of the Polish Urban Planning Congress. To showcase its industrial heritage and modern development, the organizers have arranged five themed study‑visit routes for participants. The tours include a walk through the city‑garden district, a look at historic industrial influences, a discussion of pre‑war spatial designs at Plac Grunwaldzki, a case study of the city’s post‑industrial transformation, and an examination of workers’ settlements dating back to the late 18th‑century iron foundry.
Registrations for the visits open in September on the Congress website, inviting planners, architects and scholars to experience Gliwice’s blend of historic and contemporary urban planning.
