Gliwice to unveil new mural honoring musician Stanisław Soyka
A new mural titled ‘Zobacz we mnie człowieka’ (See the human in me) has been completed in Gliwice to honor musician Stanisław Soyka. Designed by Sebastian Berus, the artwork is located on the upper wall of a historic building at 6 Królowej Bony Street, near where the artist once lived.
The mural features a portrait of Soyka accompanied by the word ‘Tolerancja’ (Tolerance), reflecting the core values of his work. The design also incorporates elements inspired by piano keyboard rhythms. The project commemorates Soyka’s musical beginnings in Gliwice, where he sang in a parish choir and studied violin.
The official unveiling is scheduled for September 20 at 6:00 PM. The event program includes live music, a collective singing of ‘Tolerancja’, and the first illumination of the artist’s portrait.
