Gliwice unveils mural honoring musician Stanisław Soyka
A new mural titled ‘Zobacz we mnie człowieka’ (See the Human in Me) has been unveiled in Gliwice to honor the musician Stanisław Soyka. Designed by artist Sebastian Berus, the mural is located on the wall of a historic building at 6 Królowej Bony Street, which currently houses Municipal Kindergarten No. 23.
The location was chosen due to Soyka’s personal history with the city; he lived nearby and began his musical journey in Gliwice, where he sang in a parish choir and studied violin at the State Music School. The artwork features a portrait of the artist accompanied by the word ‘Tolerancja’ (Tolerance), reflecting the core values of his musical career.
The mural, created using manual wall painting techniques with professional facade paints, also incorporates design elements inspired by piano keys. The official unveiling ceremony included live music and a collective singing of the song ‘Tolerancja’.
