Global AI and Robotics Venture Funding Surges to $16.3 bn in Q1 2026

Venture‑capital investment in robotics and artificial‑intelligence applications reached a record US$16.3 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to Research for Traders. The surge reflects a shift from an emerging trend to a structural component of the global economy, with 542,000 new robots installed in 2024 and a total operating fleet of 4.66 million units worldwide.

The funding boom is driven by the convergence of AI, specialised chips, sensors and vision systems, expanding applications across manufacturing, logistics, health, defence and services. Companies across the value chain are benefitting: Nvidia posted a quarterly revenue record of US$81.6 billion and launched its Isaac GR00T N1 platform for physical AI, while firms such as Ouster, Arbe Robotics, Aeva, Cognex, Teradyne, Symbotic, Tesla and Agility Robotics are highlighted for their roles in perception, cobots and humanoids.

At the same time, technology investors in Europe are reassessing AI allocations, citing pandemic‑induced market volatility, rising ethical and regulatory concerns, and heightened competition. Despite a more cautious stance, they continue to seek opportunities in innovative AI ventures that can thrive in an increasingly automated economy.
