Global air travel demand grows 0.2% in July

Global air travel demand grew by 0.2% in July compared to the same month in 2025, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). While total industry capacity increased by 0.3%, the load factor saw a slight decrease to 85.2%.

Regional performance varied significantly. Europe saw a 3.1% increase in demand, bolstered by a 12.1% rise in passenger traffic between Europe and Asia. In contrast, North American demand fell by 2.3%, and the Asia-Pacific region experienced a 0.7% decline.

Despite challenges such as high fuel costs, economic uncertainty, and geopolitical tensions, airlines are projecting confidence for the final quarter of the year, with seat capacity expected to expand by nearly 3% in September.
