Global Airlines faces winding-up petition from creditor

Global Airlines, a British carrier aiming to operate transatlantic flights using Airbus A380 aircraft, is facing a legal challenge following a winding-up petition filed by a creditor. The petition was submitted to the High Court of Justice in England and Wales under case number CR-2026-004213.

The petitioner, identified as Jessica Huffman Reese from Naples, Florida, is represented by the law firm Vedder Price. Hearings regarding the matter have been scheduled for July 15 and September 2. While the petition seeks the compulsory liquidation of the company, Global Airlines has not been formally declared insolvent, and Companies House records currently list the company as active.

This follows a previous petition filed in early 2025 that was subsequently withdrawn. The airline's ambitious plans to utilize a fleet of A380s for premium transatlantic service have faced significant delays, with its owned aircraft, registration 9H-GLOBL, currently stored in France without regular commercial operations.
