Global AR/VR Eyewear Market Surges in Q1 2026

Shipments of intelligent eyewear, encompassing AR glasses, smart glasses and VR headsets, rose 83% year‑on‑year in the first quarter of 2026, according to Counterpoint Research. While the VR segment fell 17%, AR glasses grew 136% and display‑less smart glasses jumped 210%, driving the overall expansion.

RayNeo held the largest share of the AR bird‑bath/flat‑prism market at 41%, with VITURE surging 281% to capture 34% and XREAL maintaining a strong position. Rokid led globally in its own line, and Meta retained a 38% share despite production constraints. Meanwhile, SIDTEK, a Chinese OLEDoS microdisplay maker, highlighted its portfolio of 0.8‑ to 12‑inch displays designed to meet the higher brightness, resolution and power‑efficiency demands of next‑generation AR/VR devices. TrendForce projects global AR glasses shipments to reach one million units by 2026, underscoring the sector’s rapid growth.
