Global Assistance Polska audits medical facilities in Egypt
Global Assistance Polska has conducted a medical facility audit in the Egyptian resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and Hurghada. The investigation aimed to verify service quality and control medical costs for travelers.
The audit highlighted significant discrepancies between medical service prices for local residents and those charged to foreign tourists. The company noted that a lack of transparent pricing and the practice of charging higher rates to foreign patients can lead to inflated insurance claims. There is also a risk of unjustified medical procedures, such as unnecessary hospitalizations or additional tests, which can drive costs to hundreds of thousands of euros.
Marzena Petrykowska, Deputy Director in the Travel & Medical Operational Department at Global Assistance Polska, stated that direct on-site verification is essential to ensure safety and comfort standards for clients while deepening cooperation with local partners.
