Global Beauty and Skincare Export Values Top $77 Billion in 2025
In 2025 the worldwide export of beauty, cosmetics and skincare products reached US$77.2 billion, a 7.9 % increase from 2021. Europe accounted for the largest share with US$39.6 billion (51.3 % of total exports), followed by Asia with 35.8 % and North America with 10.2 %. The five leading exporters were France (US$12.5 billion, 16.2 % of global exports), South Korea (US$9.4 billion, 12.2 %), the United States (US$5.9 billion, 7.6 %), Germany (US$5.1 billion, 6.6 %) and mainland China (US$4.4 billion, 5.7 %). Australia’s share fell to US$462.8 million, a 12.3 % decline year‑on‑year.
Australia’s domestic cosmetics and personal‑care market was valued at US$9.1 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to US$14.4 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate of 5.04 % from 2026‑2034. Growth is driven by rising consumer awareness of ingredient safety and sustainability, rapid expansion of e‑commerce and digital channels, and increasing demand for men’s grooming products. Tourism also supports export exposure for Australian beauty brands.
