Global bond yields and shifting investment trends impact markets

Global financial markets are undergoing a significant transformation driven by record-high government bond yields in the United States and the European Union. These yields, the highest seen in decades, serve as a critical market signal that influences equity valuations, state budgets, and the cost of financing for governments, businesses, and households.

In the Czech Republic, economic shifts including high inflation and rising interest rates have altered domestic investment habits. Total fund capital in the country has exceeded 2.33 trillion CZK as citizens move away from traditional savings accounts to avoid value erosion. While real estate remains a culturally significant asset, high mortgage rates—currently between 5% and 5.5%—have changed the math for individual buyers, often making rental income insufficient to cover mortgage costs. This has led to a shift in perspective toward real estate funds as an alternative to direct property ownership.
