Global central banks and major economic data set for weekly focus

The upcoming week features several key central bank announcements and economic data releases. The Bank of Japan (BoJ) is set to release its Summary of Opinions from the July 31st meeting. Markets will monitor the level of support for future interest rate hikes and assess whether the dissent from board member Takata, who proposed a 25bps hike, represents a broader trend toward tightening. Investors will also look for insights into inflation risks and potential economic impacts from developments in the Middle East.

In Australia, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is widely expected to maintain its current cash rate at 4.35%. The bank will also issue its quarterly Statement on Monetary Policy, providing updated economic projections.

Other significant economic indicators scheduled for release include German final inflation and US CPI for July, UK GDP (Q2), US PPI (Jul), and US retail sales (Jul).
